Gra$$ to Dollars

Gra$$ to Dollars is an MLA supported program for graziers. It is a great all-round grazing course, bringing the best science and practice to livestock managers in a convenient, on-farm setting.

Gra$$ to Dollars is suited to farm owners and farm workers looking to upskill or refresh their skills and knowledge. The course is also a great way to get to know local producers, learn about their operation, and swap ideas.

Program content

'Gra$$ to Dollars' covers:

  • Livestock production on pasture - fundamentals

  • Pasture production

  • Grazing management

  • Feed budgeting

  • Production targets, tools, and resources 

  • Optional one-on-one session on your farm

The program also provides comprehensive course notes for you to keep and refer to after the course.

Cost

$1300 per participant (excludes GST; includes the 30% MLA subsidy)

Group size & location

8-15 participants are needed per group.

A group can run wherever there's sufficient interest, so please be in touch!

Time commitment

Gra$$ to Dollars runs for ~12 months over 6 x half-day sessions on farm.

Note - similarities to ProGraze

'Gra$$ to Dollars' is an updated version of the longstanding and successful DPI program 'ProGraze'. There are plenty of new elements to 'Gra$$ to Dollars', but also some overlap with ProGraze. If you have recently completed ProGraze then best wait until you want a refresher before you enroll in 'Gra$$ to Dollars'.
